You're Invited: Long-Range Facilities Planning Community Open House Events

Aslin Administration Building

Columbia Public Schools will host three Long-Range Facilities Planning Community Open House events this fall. Students, families, staff and community members are invited to learn about the district’s long-range facilities planning, share feedback and help shape the future of CPS schools.

Columbia Public Schools is inviting students, families, staff and community members to help shape the future of the district’s schools through a series of Long-Range Facilities Planning Community Open House events.

Under the theme “Your voice. Our future.”, the open house events will provide an opportunity for community members to learn more about CPS’ long-range facilities planning, share their thoughts and provide input as the district considers the future needs of its schools and community. Attendees can come and go anytime during the event.

Three open houses are scheduled for this fall:

  • September 22 | 4:30–6:30 p.m. — Lange Middle School cafeteria/auditorium
  • October 21 | 4:30–6:30 p.m. — Smithton Middle School cafeteria/auditorium
  • November 17 | 4:30–6:30 p.m. — Gentry Middle School cafeteria/auditorium

The meetings are part of the district’s ongoing effort to engage the community in “Taking Care of Tomorrow’s Schools Today.” Input gathered during the town halls will help CPS better understand the priorities and perspectives of those it serves as the district plans for its facilities over the long term.

Students, families, staff and community members are encouraged to attend and participate. Each event provides an opportunity for the CPS community to learn, ask questions, and make its voice heard.
